I really like playing hard mode. It really helps you with accuracy 'cause you have to try way harder not to miss anything. Easy mode however is just a cruch.

Normal: You can take a break mid-song, and clear the last 40 secondw of the song with a passing gauge.
Hard: Mess up 1 note in a drumroll, you're finished. |

I know exactly what you mean. One time I was playing Era 7K, and my TV started going wonky, so I just got up, fiddled with it a bit until it was fixed, sat down, and still passed the song. I think I had around 400 Poors.
And Get On Beat L7 I cannot clear with Hard mode, the drumrolls just kill me. Heck, I think I could pass GoB 7K if I could just get the drumrolls down. At least I did manage to pass The Safari L7 on Hard mode, and I think Route 80's 7K on is the only other "hard" song I've passed on Hard mode.
All in all though, I do enjoy playing with Hard mode on now and again, especially with Random+Mirror to go along with it.

The way I usually play 6th style at home is game level 2 hard mode for everything. Level 3 (normal) hard mode will knock you down 8% per miss, where level 2 will knock you down 6%, which is the same you would lose for missing a note on standard play level 3. Lately i've just been going straight out level 3 hard because I have no memory card, and changing the settings in the option mode everytime I play is annoyoing -.- |

Oh, my.
Beautiful.
Around the BPM is usually displayed there's a Max Combo counter. I don't know if this is new to 9th or not, but I don't recall seeing it in any 8th Style vids.
The BPM has been moved under the Effector thing under the video.
And the turntable spins.
EDIT: Also, the song selection screen seems to be split into categories- 5th/6th/etc. Style, and difficulty levels.
Once again, I don't know if this is a new thing to 9th. |

I play on difficulty 4 since SVGL's 8th Style is also level 4. |

I don't think he meant it as colors taking credit for the stuff. I think it was more the fact that the bandwidth of the owner of the site(Leviathan IIDX) was going to take a huge hit if it was posted in here. So he should have asked to see if the owner would want that or not. And as we found out from Leviathan IIDX's reply, he did not want that to happen and he pulled the media. Especially in this case when its just somebody's personal site. _________________

gs5.1.1.: Arcade difficulty goes from 1-8 while home difficulty ranges vary from version to version; 6th style level 3 is the same as arcade level 4, while 3rd style level 4 is the same as arcade level 4.
The easiest way to tell which difficulty you want is by the % you lose. At sviggle, on level 4, you lose 6% per poor. At home on 6th style, you'll lose 6% per poor on level 3.
Ryoga: Your post about difficulty and %s is incorrect.

If anyone wants to send anything to me, i can host on my webspace or if they are large files through an ftp, if people are complaining about bandwidth. _________________

I was playing More Deep 7 once, got a phone call in the middle, answered it (stopped playing), finished the call, kept playing, and passed with 66,000 points!
THE TURNTABLE SPINS??? Anyone got more info on this? I wish I would've known about this location test. Apparently it took place in Osaka (fairly short train ride from here), and apparently it was going on while I was there visiting my gf. I even went to the Amuseum (used to be a Konami arcade up until a little while ago) that weekend and there was no 9th style there. Blarg. _________________

If you wish a link to be removed, PLEASE ASK NICELY.
Oh, well, at least ryaniidx turned his caps lock off for once.
Anyone who didn't get them can try hitting me up on AIM or MSN for them. I've got the one of someone playing a song (I'm not sure what song ) and one of the song selection menu. |
