If Starian is such an important song, why is it in only one arcade version? Hell, some of the Korean songs made it into 4th Mix/4th+, and Starian wasn't one of them. Not to mention the fact that it, along with the othe Korean songs, despite how awesome they are, has never been in a home version. _________________

Oni mode IMHO is as important to DDR as the freeze arrow. It adds so much. The challenge is wonderful, and finally clearing a course feels so rewarding. In the arcade, I barely ever play MAX2 in normal mode any more; Oni is just... incredibly fun, and challenging. If you're not good enough to play Oni mode, you will be. Then you may understand... I don't think it's for everybody, but I'm really happy it's there.

yes, the onis done in max2 were phenominal, but the ones presented in MAX USA were utter garbage; worthless, pointless collections of totally random songs. in max2 and Extreme, for the most part, onis were 5 or 6 songs and an overal THEME. the closest thing MAX USA had to a theme was club trax, but even that streatches it. the others were what? addrenalin? home bass? hardcore? why the fuck would you want to have to put up with so many random songs in a row? these were made just for the sake of being made. there is no point in really even playing them at all except to get unlocks. also, why in gods name would you put a Light song in an oni course? you might as well just skip that song. the point of an oni is skill and endurance, but max usa seemed to feel like switching quality for quanity (17, 21-song courses? come on).... blah... im rambling...... i guess if they could get it right then yes, onis should stay (5-6 songs, maybe a couple 7-10 songs, a THEME, normal progression in difficulty [std -> hvy, or all hvy] and around 10 or so courses (each having its own distinct theme, giving you a reason to play each one)) if MAX2 usa cant provide that, they might as well just lose oni mode entirely, i will have no problem playing them on MAX2 JP because they know how to make courses. _________________

Licensing fees.
Same reason why Ghosts is only on one DDR mix.
Same thing with BBBB. |

About Rhythm and Police. Yeah, it's a Dancemania song. From Speed Best 2001 I believe. I don't remember off the top of my head.
And to the people yapping on about how E-ROTIC would give the game an M rating. I don't want to be mean, but that is the biggest sack of bullsh*t I have ever heard. First of all, I do know how the ESRB works, and there are E-ROTIC songs that have been used in old DDR games that could get passed on E, with something like 'Mild Lyrics'. Kiss Me, Cat's Eye, In The Heat of the Night were the three me and some others spoke about. Anyway, whatever. :P
I mean, doesn't Trip Machine use a vocal sample that is a woman's voice moaning 'Give it to me good'? I mean... WHAT'S UP WITH -THAT-? And in even in Sexy Planet the part around the end sounds like something sexual. I mean, come on now! Anyway, in reality, people just don't care! If Britney Spears 'Boys' can get air time on Radio Disney then E-ROTIC can get on a US DDR MIX. Fair chance... unless Bros. Music wants a poopy of CASH. :P Seriously.
Go ahead and keep whining about now wanting E-ROTIC and all that mess, maybe KOA will see this thread and see the people that WANT E-ROTIC and make it happen. There is nothing wrong with dreaming.
Peace. |

Quote: | I think that Konami could do that huge collection for PS2, but i think it should only include Konami original songs, i love all konami originals and i think their the real reason to buy DDR in the first place.
i would also think that konami would have no trouble doing that since they wouldt have to pay for licencings fees and stuff like that... |
They already did Konamix, which used most of their good pre-Max2 stuff up. Take away the stuff that was in the other 3 already, and we have a game that's either 90% repeats, or 90% crap.

You've been under the wrong impression.
Quote: | Can't Fight The Moonlight / LeAnn Rimes - whatever the name of the remix that's occasionally played on the radio. The original version wouldn't be that good for DDR. |
I love you.
Quote: | That's all. Oh and 1 more thing, Remove ONI mode already. It frustrates me. But keep the ONI remixes. They need it. |
Don't play it.
Wow, that would fix the problem without screwing the thousands who LIKE Oni.
Quote: | Also, dealing with From Solo - you know what? I would not be surprised at all if they renamed it "From Konamix". Disgusting, yes, but fully possible. (actually...was Hysteria on Konamix? I think it was, but...) |
Yes, Hysteria was on Konamix.
I don't see why it would be "Disgusting". It's not that big of a deal. |

I liked how we had some special remixes on the last one. IE Dynamite Rave, Drop the Bomb, and Look to the Sky. Strange that most of them didn't get onto Extreme.
What I want:
1. 4th Mix songs like Saint Goes Marching, Furuhata's Theme, Night In Motion, and some other good ones.
2. Moonlight Shadow
3. Any Burnin' the Floor
4. BBBB or Dam Dariram (even the remix would be nice)
5. Ghosts
6. So Deep
7. All the other 6th mix songs we didn't get like Witch Doctor, Cowgirl, Let's Groove, Do you Remember Me, and Freckles
8. More from Captain Jack. It was very nice to see My Generation but something like Only You or In the Navy would be nice.
9. 2 Unlimited (any of them would be good)
10. 7th mix songs to actually be on there, last time we got hardly any 6th mix songs, and yet it was called Max. Even if it was called Max for the new engine, we still should have gotten 6th mix songs anyway.
11. 7th mix Oni songs
Quote: | 8. "Vol. 4" by Raver's Choice (Yet Another V.I.S.) |
Very good thinking. I miss that song.
Game suggetions:
Keep Info mode and Oni mode
Put more theme into the oni courses
Better Graphics, some of the BGs looked horible _________________

I was just wondering if they showed what songs are going to be on DDRMAX2. I hope it doesnt have ne of thoes stupid songs. I want So Deep and it better have Burning heat the theme from Gradius 2 like it has in the real DDRMAX2 in the arcade. Does ne1 know at all. Get rid of the non arcade songs that are only in the american versions. all thoes songs are the worst with the exseption of Look to the sky and Drop the bomb remixes. |

E-Rotic, smile.dk, Joga, Captain Jack
I know this is revisiting past topics but I think these names should be mentioned on every page just so konami gets the idea, should they ever come across this.
And Max 300, Maxx Unlimited, Legend of Max, Bag for the experts.. maybe Gradiusic cyber too (damn that, the only non-10 foot song I still cannot AA) |

I dont think it matters cause the Japanese PS2 version of DDRMAX: Dance Dance Revolution 6th mix was almost completely different from the DDRMAX USA PS2 game. I dunno, that's what i think atleast |

I just wish that ddrmax2 usa will have Telephone Operator (Club Mix), So Deep, Freckles, and BRE\-/KDOWN. If it does happen to have at least two or three of those I will absolutely love this mix. If not, then I will just like it. |

I don't. ;P And Vol. 4 would be cool, as would Rock Beat, Love This Feelin', and Absolute. |
In case you don't recall, we already had the dubious pleasure of getting Love This Feelin' on MAX USA. I'd just as soon not see it come back, considering that the bloody song has the privilege of sullying not just one, but two of the oni courses (such as they are). The steps aren't fun, the rhythms don't match, and the music offends. If we're going to dredge up old 2nd ReMIX tunes, I'd almost rather have just about anything else -- even Smoke. :P
Though while we're talking 2nd ReMIX, I'll happily take If You Were Here, I believe in miracles, and the rest of the returning-in-EXTREME lineup. Heck, if they got us Synchronized Love and Rhythm and Police... |

My expectations for MAX2:
I imagine KOA will probably just basically repeat what they did with MAX, meaning it will have about as many songs as the arcade version (more than the arcade seems unlikely, but possible), a couple of the older songs on MAX2 (B4U?), there will probably be several great songs left out for no apparent reason (So Deep), will have a bunch of licensed songs (Heaven is a given, unless there's a copyright snag), and they might try to toss in a "new" mode (nonstop, anyone?). One suggestion I make to KOA is to put Butterfly in it, no matter the cost. I know people who would by the game just to LISTEN TO THAT FREAKING SONG! (and with it being on Extreme, who knows). Of course I'll probably end up importing MAX2 JP, so KOA had better throw in a lot of exclusives to make it worth it to me and the other importers. |

chaosL wrote: | im not concerned with the similarities in japanese and us max2, i want to import the jap version and i jsut want to know a songlist. | This is easy. Go download the Max2 Arcade songlist. Remove everything that's been in DDR before.
Voila.
Or, alternatively, look at the tracklist for the Max2 soundtrack. That'll give you a pretty good idea of what to expect.
On a separate note...here's something to think about. DDR US was basically part 2nd Mix and part 3rd Mix. Konamix was 4th Mix plus some leftovers from 5th Mix and a *little* bit of Solo. DDRMAX was what was left of 5th Mix, and 6th Mix, and a smattering of the Club Mixes. That means that we're leaving out one fairly large chunk of the library.
Solo 2000.
I believe one could argue a good case that Konami could take out quite a few remaining tracks from Solo Bass and Solo 2000, remove the 6-panel steps, make some inventive Doubles steps, and toss all those in.
Of course, that's not what I believe myself, but I figured I'd toss that out there. PenguinMan26 wrote: | Shimono wrote: | (and who doesn't get tired of Naoki?). | I don't. I don't understand why people have such a big problem with Naoki. You don't ever hear people complaining about all the DJ Taka or K.O.G. () songs...Not that I have a problem with Taka, mind you. |
