I can't wait for it biggrin.gif Only a little longer... can't wait! The catcher looks V.cool, but I don't like how it's no longer in a tunnel, but on a flattened surface now E2.gif AND, checkpoints? CHECKPOINTS?! ENERGY BONUS AT THE CHECKPOINTS?! If you can't turn that off, I'll be sad, since that just makes it soo much easier. disgust.gif BUT, Garbage, Weezer, Quarashi (ICELAND! YEAH!) and David Bowie are in it biggrin.gif That is great news to me.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that having those 3D FreQs SUCKS! It just ruins the whole freaky vibe to it, by having life like characters dancing. I just liked having a custom picture bounce to the beat frown.gif

From the video it looks like they actually did something with the graphics, but I don't know. I think it will feel a bit wierd playing outside of a tunnel. Bit it's still my most looked forward to game of 2003 (after DDR 7th Mix of course).

yeah, i noticed that the gameplay is on a platform instead of a tunnel. and the scratch and axe are gone now! at least your multiplier can get up to 8x though, that can lead to some frigging high scores ^_-

Don't get me wrong, I liked the first FreQuency, but" Amplitude" as they call it seems that Harmonix is trying too hard. Driving a huge airplane down a tunnel hitting on gems (see the movie if you don't know what I am talking about) while you blast some David Bowie, or Weezer doesn't sound that fun to me. And the new FreQs suck, I want my old cell-shaded music game on acid back.

You know, I could get by the couple of rock songs on Frequency because everything else was wonderful. Crystal Method, Orbital, Q-Bert, Lo-Fidelity All Stars, Dub Pistols, Roni Size, the J-Bs, etc.

But the combination of Blink 182, Pink, Quarashi, and P.O.D. - four bands I absolutely cannot STAND - make it really unappealing for me to purchase this. Especially when I realize there are NO artists I actively listen to on the list.

Good thing I just got 6th Style. biggrin.gif

Im goin nuts waiting for the game.

sure the mainstream music might not approve to me as much, but im not really partial to music. if it sounds good, ill like it, and from what ive listened to, everything is good, i just hope that the Crystal Method does POD a favor and cuts all the lyrics happy.gif

the freQs thing doesnt bother me that much. it was all about the gameplay anyway, and I hope that that is there.

Sorry, Milkcarton, but the lyrics for Boom are still there. But, the Crystal Method Remix sounds better than the original. E1.gif Alright, I, like many other FreQs, don't like the idea of Blink 182 in Amplitude. But remember, Frequency didn't do as well saleswise. Thus, Harmonix, the makers of the game, had to get some mainstream artists for Amplitude. And Robotkid, the guy who did End of Your World and one of the guys behind Frequency and Amplitude, stated there were many artists he wanted to get for Amplitude, but couldn't cuz they didn't want to be associated with a game many people wouldn't play.

Amplitude looks awesome! They have some good bands there, POD included. The new design looks cool too, with the full-body Freq and having it play the current instrument. I can't wait!

Actually the very last unlock sucked.

Also, I like Frequency but the WAY they did some of the things in game make no sense.

My main gripe: you literally have to unlock the 5th song in a section every time you go up in difficulty. What sense does that make? If you unlocked the song on a higher difficulty, it should automatically unlock it in a lower difficulty. (ie unlocking Science Genius Girl on Medium, should unlock it on hard) For that matter, once it's been unlocked on any difficulty, it should be avaiable in them all.

DDR does this better by letting you select which level of difficulty at anytime. So, if I want to chill out and play Ex Girlfriend on Easy level, I should then, if I want to trip and try Surgecore, I should be able to do that without changing modes.

That's great.

When I saw that POD was going to be in it (Boom of all songs!), I freaked. I hate POD with a passion, and Boom is by far one of their worst songs (and that doesn't say much, seeing as ALL THEIR SONGS SUCK)... damn it... and Blink 182... ROCK SHOW?! What the hell were they thinking... I doubt having these few REALLY POPULAR mainstream bands will boost their sales much.

I bet the real reason most people didn't buy the first one, was because they had no idea what the hell it was. Everytime someone would watch me play they would all say "I have no idea what is going on, and I don't like it. This doesn't look fun, how can you play it?". Most people I've asked had no idea about who was in the game, neither did I, and they still loved it. I loved it too, because the music was great. But so far, I'm pretty unimpressed by Amplitude's song list. Looks like I'll just be playing Garbage, Weezer, David Bowie and Quarashi the whole time...
