As i've said before, and could be discovered by reading all the gazillion posts saying it, The EMS USB2 works perfect, and has worked every second sense i've had it with DWI SMMAX & DDRPC. You can get it at levelsix.com (Here) and it's $16.95. It even has 2 contoller ports built in for doubles, etc. |

If you aren't sure what resistors are, perhaps you should check into a premade adapter. There are a few out there that work very well, and require no previous knowledge of "complex" *cough* electrical components and concepts. |
lol I'm not an idiot. Hell, I build computers for poeple. But I'm not too good at regular electrical stuff - just the stuff you have to worry about when building them
Ok.....is THIS what you mean?

So basically, all I do is connect some risistors from the PSX controller to the Parralel cable pins, and use that diagram you gave to find out where each goes? _________________

That's what I'm going to do once I get the converter Kilroy mentioned.
I'm sure it will work, since it's basically just wired to a PSX pad. _________________

this sucks! all this trouble over stupid converters, someone somewhere must of made a patch that fixes this problem, if the mats can work with parallel then they should work with USB. Does anyone know of any patches anywhere to fix this???? |

i bought an levelsix EMS USB convertor, and used my metal gamesdepot pad with it, and everything was great execpt the LEFT arrow- i would press the left arrow and it would register a second later, or sometimes not at all- from time to time it did register but WAY too often did i miss LR jumps and left arrow freezes wouldn't register all the way through the hold- i rotated the pad and decided to cheat but reversing all the arrows (up would be left, left would be down, etc) and this time the up arrow didn't register (it was the same arrow, only roatated around)- thinking it was the pad, i used the pad on my DDDR PSX USA and everything worked fine- so i tried a soft pad on the emulator (i have the Stepmania beta 5) adn everthing was great except the left arrow- any body know what's going on? a standard PSX controller works fine but dance pads won't work with the left arrow.... hmmm _________________

Here's another opinion, it's been said before but - I got an EMS USB Adapter and there are absolutely no problems. Works 100% all of the time. I haven't had any problems at all, so this seems like the perfect converter. _________________

You can get it at Level-Six.
Also, for those of you new to this topic, I have a website for working/non-working PSX-to-PC adapters. Enjoy! (it's on my signature.) _________________
