Klott,
You can replace the bottom lucite piece with the thin plywood as long as it can flex like the lucite. If it's too rigid, then the metal contacts won't make contact.

He didn't use the corner braces, he built it CF style. But I have seen 6 panel pads using the braces.

The only thing I would worry about is the screen ripping apart. You'll just have to play a lot, then open up your pad to see how the screen holds up. If it's durable then you have a great alternative ...

I didn't see any pictures on your site of the aluminum screening. As long as it keeps its form, it should be okay. Just don't use aluminum foil. laugh.gif

As this is the first time I'm taking on building a metal/wood pad, I'd be terribly grateful for any comments. Note that the pad itself is in no way built yet, hell, I haven't bought even a single part ...
