I don't blame you guys though, DDR is quite addictive; even if the pads are crappy and the machine is overpriced, you can't just play two or three songs - it's not satisfying ... |

Go to http://www.savageddr.com and look under note skins.
This is assuming you're using some version of Stepmania...
Also, I believe the default noteskin in Stepmania is the same as Extreme's. |

This seems to be the best (judging from screenshots) and the one that most closely resembles the arcade's.

A good pad is a must (None of that worn out-caved in-sticky/slippery stuff.)
Oh yeah, and the arrow graphics on the pad need to be facing the right directions. |
