just thought I'd post that I fixed my 'better' DDR pad (the thin one), and its near perfect now... tho its either short circuiting occasionally (need to check some of wiring) or ... |

Length of wire shouldnt matter that much... technically over a longer distance, the signal will get weaker... but over a few metres it shouldnt matter... also, over a longer distance there is more cha ... |

Using the MDF strips I would suggest is for the screws to go into and for the wire housing... but other than that its not needed. It also adds more weight... which is good ... |
