In my experience, the 2nd player side is usally the one that's out of order. Not sure why that is; it just always seems to happen to me.

I really doubt you could find one without using eBay that costs under $100. If you did, it would probably break fairly quickly.

Generally, things on eBay are nowhere near brand-new, usually they've been used for a while. RedOctane does make good pads though, so it might be worth it to check it out.

Not very many people can practice doubles at home unless they're lucky enough to be in possesion of an expensive double mat. I can only play doubles on like Standard or easy Heavy songs.
