Honestly, go for the ignition. I've had both the normal RO pad and the ignition, and getting a pad with a foam insert is worth it.

I actually kind of like it. The first time I played it I was kind of like "whaaaa??", but its actually sort of interesting. Definitely a unique sound to DDR.

I don't know much about the Madcatz soft pad. However, as with any soft pad, modding a pad can really help the stability as well as prolong the life of a pad so I suggest you do so.
