DDR Freak Netiquette

  1. AzN TypInG iS ReALLy AnNoYIng. Don't do it.
  2. YELLING AT THE TOP OF YOUR LUNGS LIKE THIS IS ANNOYING TOO! Don't do it.
  3. Write subject lines that actually convey the subject of your post. "DDR", "PSX DDR", "I have a question", or "Does anyone know if..." are not helpful subjects. You can help minimize bandwidth issues by making clear subjects, so that people don't click on them if they're not interested.
  4. Don't ask if there's anyone who can pass song X with mode Y with N percentage. The answer is YES. It's all been done before. 100% perfects on blah blah Double Oni Sudden Shuffle? Not a problem. Trust us, it's already been done.
  5. Don't ask for Maniac status, or Basic status, or any special titles. You're not going to get it. (Unless we decide at a later time you can buy your title). Don't ask what they mean, either. Think of it like a puzzle. If you're intelligent, you can actually figure it out yourself.
  6. Excessive use of colors is annoying. The lack of contrast gives people headaches.
  7. Contrary to popular belief, swearing is allowed. As long as you don't use said swearing to flame or be rude to people.
  8. The sum of your entire signature must be less than 150 pixels high, and less than 500 pixels wide. This means you cannot have two images, one on top of the other, if together they amount to more than 150 pixels in height. This also includes text. If you have an image that is exactly 150 pixels high, you should not have any text underneath it. Try to keep file sizes under 35 KB. You can test your signature by PM'ing yourself. You don't need to waste everyone else's time by creating a topic for it.
  9. RTFM! Please look at the FAQ's, songlists, locations, and dictionary before you ask a question. If you continually ask questions whose answers are easily found, you are considered LAZY. Following these links will prevent questions like - What is SSR? What is a catastrophic? What's vivid? Where can I find a DDR location in Kentucky?
  10. If you have a problem with something a mod does, PM that mod or an admin (J Dogg, Spike, rampage, or Junior Asparagus). Do not email them. Did you miss that? Do not email them.
  11. As a general rule of thumb, searching the history of the forums before you post new topics will help cut down on the number of repetitive topics that you post. It is preferable to revive an old topic than to ask a repetitive question, although reviving absolutely dead topics is frowned upon as well.
  12. Please look carefully at the board names, and the types of post that go in each one before you decide to create new topics. If your topic is found in the wrong place, it will be locked, then ignored.
  13. There is a thread for introductions in the DDR Chit Chat forum. Accomplishments should stay in the DDR Gameplay forum.
  14. At least make an attempt to make intelligent conversation. Replies that contain merely "ROFL" or "right on" or an unhumorous image are not considered intelligent.
  15. Do not declare war on modem users by posting gargantuous images. It's usually better to link to any image than it is to post it.
  16. Don't make words so long that they scroll the width of the screen. Put a line break in your words. Better yet, don't write a word that long in the first place.
  17. Don't abuse the emoticons. There is no need to crash other people's machines just because you get a kick out of the Pokemon smiley. We get the idea with one smiley. Five million of them doesn't do anything more but piss people off.
  18. Don't abuse the "quote" button. It should be used sparingly. There's few things worse in a board than having to scroll through the entire thread in each reply. Plus it wastes our bandwidth, and therefore, money. If you must quote someone, you can always delete irrelevant parts of the quote.
  19. Don't flame. Take it to PM's. We really don't want to hear it.
  20. Don't flame. No one else really wants to hear it, either.
  21. Don't flame. You'll get a one way ticket out of here.
  22. Do not post a topic directly aimed at one person. There is such a thing as PM's - learn to use it. It can become your friend.
  23. If it comes to our attention that you dislike DDR Freak and everything that it stands for, we will not hesitate to remove this source of hatred from your life in the hopes that you can live more peacefully.
  24. Do not put "Catastrophics beaten..." in your signature. If it is seen that you do so, we will replace your signature with something else.
  25. Last, but certainly not least, if you don't like the rules or the board, don't post here. The door is pretty damn easy to find.
