Who: my TX-1000
what: left arrow started dropping freezes
when: a few days ago
where: my house
why: ...
how: ...

Yeah, since it's pretty much the cheapest metal pad you can get, I knew it'd crap out eventually, but I'm still holding out hope that I can salvage it. I've had it for over a year, and it never gave me any problems until a few days ago, when I was practicing spins on Freeway Shuffle and it started dropping the freezes that I knew I was hitting. I chalked it up at first to me being bad at spins, but it started dropping non-spin freezes, and freezes on other songs, and then I started to worry...

Today I got out my screwdriver and managed to take off the left arrow panel. Wow, that was... interesting. The problem is I don't KNOW where the problem is, so I don't know how to fix it. I wiped the inside down a bit with just a cloth and some water (I was afraid to use cleaning chemicals on it), put it back on, and it almost seemed to be fixed, but then I played Puzzle and on the third dropped freeze I knew the problem was still there.

So, I know TX-1000s are a bitch to fix, but does anyone have ANYTHING that could possibly help me out?

I'd post pictures, but my camera got stolen at school. >_<

you could try to find the source of the problem to see if its a wiring problem or if the arrow is having a problem staying down? If you have a solder iron you could try to solder off the wires on the contact and then holding them together to see if you can hold down a freeze when you play, not sure if this would help E10.gif good luck though
