You need the bar to do well on it, but not to pass it. Pickles showed us that.
Of course, I agree that the bar is pretty much a necessity for this game, especially on this song.

Actually, I'm sure you can do both without the bar. But it's just obviously harder. Why bother?

obviously, when you make something harder for yourself, you are better than the people that take the obvious, legit easy way.
pandemonium is possible to FA no bar, its just stupid to do.

Bar elitism is almost as annoying as no-bar elitism. Some people just prefer not to use the bar, or play no-bar sometimes to see how they do. So what? No-bar playing only becomes stupid when you start to think that it's the better way to play because it's more difficult.
